What we do

Xombis builds a single dark fantasy universe and ships it in every form it fits: games in Unity and C#, books in print, and a folklore archive on video. Small team, long memory, everything in one voice.

We also take on select collaborations where our production pipeline, UI systems or worldbuilding can help another studio ship.

About Xombis

Xombis LLC is an independent game and publishing studio in Winter Park, Florida, run by Chris Santangelo: a technical developer and UI/UX designer who has spent two decades building interactive software, from military training simulators and AR/VR research applications to mobile and strategy game interfaces, for teams including Hit-Factor Games, LexisNexis, JHT and Virtual Reality Rehab.

Blightened is the world he kept returning to. He designs, codes and directs it in Unity and C#, from the enemy state machines and the Syphon to the store pages and the dev logs. Character and environment art is produced with Limited Slip Studios, where he has served as Technical Director since 2009.

Three rules hold the work together: movement is identity, corruption and time are the spine, and readability beats spectacle. AI-assisted tools support concept exploration and iteration in our visual and writing workflows; every system, mechanic, piece of worldbuilding and production decision is made by the developer, and we say the same on our Steam pages.
